Martha is co-founder and director of Modo Yoga Kingston located in the heart of downtown Kingston. She has had a yoga practice for 10 years and did her first teacher training in June 2012. Planting the Modo seed in Kingston and watching it grow into a flourishing and beautiful community is one of the greatest highlights of Martha’s life so far. She is honored to be a part of it and looks forward to watching it evolve and grow much more.
In early 2013, Martha began to study mindfulness with her late teacher Michael Stone. She enjoyed a few years of study with him and continues to pull inspiration from his podcasts, books, and course curriculum's. Martha brings mindfulness practice into all areas of her life and is excited to share this gift with others. She is currently working on an in person eight week Mindfulness Meditation course launching in the fall of 2019.
Martha's teacher training's include: Modo level one, Modo Flow, Therapeutic Yoga Intensive with Susi Hately, and Mindfulness training with Michael Stone. Martha offers a blend of peace and strength in all of her classes, and is dedicated to self study as a student of yoga for life.
Martha lives in Kingston Ontario where she teaches weekly group classes at Modo Yoga Kingston and offers private yoga classes upon request. She teaches a June retreat at Shanti Retreat on wolfe island, and two summer retreats in Picton. Martha has an incredibly deep love for cooking healthy recipes for her and her family and for groups on summer yoga retreats. Her love affair with food and cooking grows stronger each year and she looks forward to one day having her own garden of vegetables. She is a mother of two gorgeous twin girls and absolutely adores being a Mom!
